BETHAN WESTON RECIPES / 02

THE
WEENIE-TINI.

A martini that tastes like a hot dog. Salty, tangy, properly cold and best served with an actual hot dog, obviously.

01 / THE PREP

THE
PREP.

HOT DOG WATER

To make around 50 ml of hot dog water, chop up half a hot dog and add it to a small pan with 60 ml water. Warm gently until the water has picked up enough flavour, then strain and cool completely. Keep refrigerated until you're ready to use.

03 / THE METHOD

  1. 01

Add the vodka, Lillet, pickle brine and chilled hot dog water to a mixing glass with plenty of ice. Stir until properly cold.

  2. 02

Mix Tubby Tom's pickle dust, celery salt and mustard together, then dust the rim of a chilled glass.

  3. 03

Strain in the martini. Finish with a few drops of tomato oil, then serve with a hot dog, sauces and onions if you're doing it properly.

Keep the hot dog water chilled and use it on the day you make it. This is a martini, not a mystery broth.
HOT DOG WARNINGIt sounds silly. It is silly. It is also, annoyingly, very good.

One hot dog, one martini, no further questions.
